Blitzen Trapper Announce New Album / World Tour

Some great news today as Blitzen Trapper have announced a June 8th release for Destroyer of the Void on SubPop. This is the follow up to the 2008's amazing Furr which dominated my stereo late that year and even found it's way into some commercials

If you haven't heard this band...get on it now. Their sound is based in folk rock but they also bring an experimental vibe to their music. With each album, they've expanded on the sound and I think "DotV" will be no exception. Just another step along the path to greatness for BT.

Kill An Hour: Blitzen Trapper Stop by KCRW

My favorite touring act of the moment Blitzen Trapper made a stop over at KCRW for an amazing in-studio session.

SoCal's KCRW is no stranger to these performances, and neither is BT who often stop mid-tour for these mini sessions, most notably the Daytrotter Sessions (I think they've done, what, 4 of them now?)

Really outdid themselves here, you can see that the touring helped them hone the "Furr" stuff (that's their p-h-e-n-o-m-e-n-a-l album they put out in late '08). An effortless performance that should help you mentally drift away from your desk for an hour so. It's Tuesday, I know you need that as much as I do!

I've had the urge to post this for a long time now. I had a very similar post on the old blog, before we moved to this location on Blogger, so I gave it some time to die down before I re-posted. This 4th of July I pretty much played a solid hour of studio/live BT stuff and it reminded me I needed to post it again.
