Get your mind out of the gutter boy! This is a completely safe-for-work post about an up and coming Bay Area band called, Still Flyin'

I came across this rather large group of bros and bras (what do you call a female bro anyway?) while STILL digging through mounds of obscure reviews from this years SXSW.

The fun/energy the band exudes quickly spills out in their tunes and it's sure to catch your attention.

The amazingly lucky bastards over at Daytrotter got the band to stop by for a quick set and put up the results on their site yesterday. I've got, "Runaway Train II" from the set, below for you to listen to as well as the official video for their track Rope Burn.

"Snow Day" Puts Anything I've Ever Done To Shame

This is incredible!

The guys over at BoingBoing.net just posted about this incredibly talented 8 year old Emma, who performed at the Coffee Shop Jam at The Columbia City Theater in Seattle, Washington. These jam sessions are, "...a chance for music students to perform in a real music venue for an enthusiastic crowd." What an awesome idea...hats off to whomever started that.

I'll say it again, she's EIGHT, and she's already written and performed her own song titled, "Snow Day" (Video below)

Emma has a wonderful future ahead of her in the music world...and I'd imagine that makes her one heckuva popular 3rd grader!

Live Track of the Day: George Benson - "The Ghetto"

Got tipped off to this video by an old co-worker of mine.

Great stuff from the unbelievably-talented-after-all-these-years George Benson.

Here's a live take on, "The Ghetto" where we get Benson doing a little of what he does best. Jazz guitar, R&B, and some scatting to boot! The keys and percussion also make a big appearance on this track.

I found this a perfect soundtrack to a rainy Thursday morning here at the office...I hope you do too.
