Sign of What's To Come: New Julian Casablancas single

highly recommend everyone head over to the MySpace page for Julian Casablancas to get a first listen of a song off his highly anticipated solo release, "Phrazes For The Young".

if this song is any sign of what's to come of the album, tentatively set to release October 20th in the U.S., it's going to be a huge success....which is good, because it's been too long since I've made a Strokes related post on here.


The song evokes the 80's hardcore, with bright synths popping up all over the place. It reminds me a lot of MGMT's, "Grutu" which I was obsessed with.

Mellow Your Thursday and It's Almost Friday

Got a great track that I've been meaning to post and talk about.

It's off of Albert Hammond Jr's (of The Strokes) most recent studio release "Como Te Llama" and the song is titled: SPOOKY COUCH

This song just puts me into the perfect mood towards the end of a Thursday. Work is winding down. Few more hours to go until Friday...and you know they say Thursday is the new Friday.

So sit back, kick on this tune, and close your eyes...and if a co-worker asks what your doing...send them here. They'll understand.

Man Dies of Stroke Waiting for Strokes

You might see that in your local newspaper headlines as...it's now June 2009 and still no news on the new Strokes album.

We know it coming from this little post on their MySpace at the end of March:

"After a long and much needed hibernation period that saw many of the band's various other musical projects emerge, we're pleased to announce that The Strokes are now all back hard at work in their NYC space on writing and rehearsing new material for a 4th full-length album. No recording studio time has been booked yet, as they sketch out the blue-prints of new songs and fine tune plans in their rehearsal space, but it will undoubtedly be all mapped out and etched in stone at some point in the not-too-distant future."
