Don't Upset Bob Saget

Lately there's been a lot of fuss over artists copying or stealing bits from songs that have previously been recorded by another artist.

Most recently, I found this little guy on YTMND which makes the claim (a hilarious one might I add) that Green Day have ripped off...wait for it...the TV theme song of early 90's classic, "Full House"!!

Check it here: http://billybobsaget.ytmnd.com/

...

Just before that was Coldplay's "Viva La Vida", which has Joe Satriani and Cat Stevens claiming to have been ripped.

See for yourself, below is the Cat Stevens bit in question (and HERE you can listen to the Coldplay verse):

What do you think? Ripoffs? Enough variation to call it original? Let us know in the comments!

Friday LOL of the Day

This is from a dance show (ala "Soul Train") in the late 80's/early 90's called "The New Dance Show"

Little did they know how funny the show would be years later as an OLD dance show.

Important Feature:
Watch the white guy at the 30 second mark...preferably someplace you won't get in trouble for laughing out loud.

Let The Beat Build Remix

For those as tuned into the interwebs as I am, you've seen this video on every social networking site and blog for the past month.

I figured I'd do a service to those who read this blog, no one yet, and point them in the direction of this video in case they missed it.

This remix of Lil Wayne's, "Let The Beat Build" was done in A SINGLE TAKE. One shot and they nailed it. The whole thing is fronted by up and coming rapper Nyle who currently attends NYU and clearly has got talent (as do the other students in the vid)

Amazing stuff...enjoy.

Forgotten Awesome Music Video of the Day

GOD, this is beyond classic!

Totally forgot about the, "Let's go up to the beach man and catch some females, have a barbecue" intro.

My new musical obsession, Ratatat

This is RATATAT…a band soon to be high on your list of favorites.

I’d say its…electronic music, but its rock music, and more. I don’t even want to pigeonhole them into a genre. Check it out for yourself.

This video is courtesy of Dan Boland on Vimeo…he has a ton more of live Ratatat and some other bands that are great sound/quality. So if you like what you hear here, check it out there there.

Just like the Bodyguard....but with lions

Pretty jealous. I think a lion would easily be the coolest pet ever....if you didnt have to worry about them eating you in your sleep...or when you're awake....or when you're in the shower. Well, pretty much you have to worry about them eating you 24/7.

Babe Plays Ray

Just ran across a video of this girl playing my favorite Ray LaMontagne song. She actually does a pretty good cover. Gorgeous too. I was a bit late on the Ray waggon. Im loving what im hearing though. A friend brought up at great point: hes kind of a more refined Bon Iver, hes found his voice.

Trippy Alice In Wonderland Remix

Wow, not sure how long this album/artist/concept has been around but I dig...I dig. Similar to the artist "Girl Talk", this artist Pogo took clips from Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" and stitched them together to make quite the trippy, blippy, hippy dippy track. Word is the album is free, if you can find it.

Awesomely Bad Music Video of the Day

WARNING: Awesomely Bad Video!!!!
This is Bobby & The Midnites with an 80's classic, "I Want To Live In America"

Before you watch this, some neccesary information:
The"Bobby" in the band is Bob Weir, yes THAT Bob Weir of the legendary "Grateful Dead".
Bobby & The Midnites didn't have massive success in the 80's, this video might be a hint as to why...but like all other hidden gems, only time can tell their true greatness. And this folks...this is greatness. Right down to the faces Bobby makes in the background every 15 seconds.

Quote Archive

You've probably noticed by now that we like to change the description of the blog every so often.
That's the tiny little "quote" you see underneath the title of this blog on every page.

Usually it represents some sort of current event or issue but at times it could be completely random. Even an inside joke or two...so hopefully you're not on the outside.

Anyways, here we will keep an archive of the quotes for your reference with the starting date that each quote appeared.

That's all I have...

10/09/09 - "I Wouldn't Say No..."

09/23/09 - "Tell him your gonna shinjhmio?"

07/22/09 - "Drizzle the butter on top"

07/09/09 - "Do ju end Mich-ellle sving?"
