Patch In Denim

A good friend of mine, who's name can be gathered from his blog, put this together a while back. It garnered minor fame at inception due to it's quirkiness and obvious use of generic visual effects. A little "hehe" and "haha" if you will.

Since then I've realized there's something deeper here. This is no mere, 'video clip'. It transcends the conventional YouTube wisdom of some amateur creating a video for kicks. This is an open ended human interest piece that may mean something completely different to you as it does to me.

So tell us in the comments, what do you feel as you watch this?

  1. this youtube video makes me love miles ross more than i did previously i think. what did i 'get' from it? as an observer i felt like i was watching a moment that i knew that other people were feeling complex emotions about, but that i had no access to/desire to emulate/basic understanding of, despite the many possible assumptions i could make. i also think that the added level of viewing 'the moment' through the numerous processes it passed through, including the viewer's split-second intrigue, the camera's ability to capture more detail than the eye by zooming, the viewer's emotional filter, the viewer's apple imovie program, the viewer's many edits, the viewer viewing the viewer, and then myself having watched the youtube video at the recommendation of another person, i think this video really 'exposed'/'overexposed' me to what 'voyeurism' is essentially: being perplexed by a moment that you can never experience and feeling sarcastic and intrigued by it (or confused by it). thank you for 'highlighting' this
